The prefix Sunny Prides was passed in 1987 in conjunction with
the registration of my first litter. My foundation bitch, LP
Red Tails Mirielle
was actually called Sunny.
I have had irish setters since 1975. I then bought my first own dog and she was named
Effie
but her petname was Kia, the name taken from an afghan bitch I grew up with.
As a new irish setter owner I was engaged in and participated in the foundation of
ISF - Irländsk Röd Setter
Förening.
After having my first irish I was stuck! I couldn't think of a more
appropriate breed - size, temperament, level of excercise and coat - it all suited me.
Of course the dogs take a lot of my spare time - not to say all! - but I manage to work
nights as an anestetic nurse.
The most important thing for breeding is to have a strong, healthy and typical line of
bitches. If you don't have that it does not matter how good a studdog you use. It takes two to tango!
It should be quality - not quantity!
